Armenian Minister of Economy: UAE is a reliable partner for sustainable development, innovation, creating opportunities
Armenian Minister of Economy and Commissioner General of the Armenian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, Vahan Kerobyan, stated that the UAE has become a reliable partner for sustainable development, innovation and opportunities at the regional and international level through its governance system, efforts to reduce oil dependence and rapid economic diversification.
“We are hopeful of forging new business relationships with our Emirati partners and enriching our bilateral economic agenda, sharing experience and knowledge with the technologically advanced community to develop ambitious cooperation,” the minister said in an interview with the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
“The development of education through technology, the involvement of women in government and the development of society, the empowerment of youth, a favorable investment climate have led to the UAE becoming a platform where scientists and cultural figures, experts and researchers, world leaders and host solutions, offer new ideas for solving potential global problems. “
“In recent years, Armenia and the United Arab Emirates have come closer, and cooperation between the two countries in trade, tourism, energy, medical services, technology, infrastructure and the financial sector has increased,” he added, noting that the alliance still has potential for growth. …
Speaking about Expo 2020 Dubai, he said that the event served to unite minds and an opportunity to best solve the problems facing humanity, find collective solutions for them and create a new model of the global community.
The Minister explained that Expo 2020 Dubai is “a big step towards getting back to our daily lives,” noting Expo 2020 Dubai’s efforts to implement COVID-19 security measures and provide visitors with an unforgettable experience and opportunity.
“The UAE has done an impressive job of hosting the World Expo. Building a city from scratch to host an event and welcome 25 million visitors is no easy task. The UAE has made the process [seems] easy. “
Speaking about his country’s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, Kerobyan said that the concept of Armenia’s participation is built around the idea of ”Ethnotech”, representing the ethnic characteristics and technological aspirations of his country.
“Our participation in the exhibition is intended to show our capabilities, investment environment and the attractiveness of Armenia,” he added. “But many people are not aware of the fact that Armenians have historically also been at the forefront of innovation. We are responsible for day-to-day technologies such as MRI machines, ATM machines, color televisions, etc. It spills over into today, ”he said. Kerobyan noted that Armenia was one of the first countries to confirm its participation in this important and unique event.
When asked about the main attractions of the pavilion of his country, he said that by showcasing a historical or cultural artifact, the pavilion not only shows its cultural significance, but also a deeper look at where this artifact came from, what technologies were used to create it and what his story. “For this we use AR technologies. Our visitors will be invited to download the application in order to be able to interactively touch the culture of Armenia ”.
