Tatarstan, together with the UAE, will develop Islamic finance and the halal industry

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov discussed building up cooperation between the region and the two states of the Persian Gulf – Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. Minnikhanov’s interlocutors were the Minister of Oil and Environment of Bahrain Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Daina and the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates Suheil bin Mohammed Al Mazrui.

The Tatarstan leader announced the desire of the republic to make a proper contribution to building up Russia’s ties with the countries of the Islamic world. According to Minnikhanov, cooperation with Bahrain has great potential. In particular, the Russian side could supply Bahrain with petrochemical and engineering products, tires, compressors, medicines, medical equipment, and agricultural products. In the course of negotiations with the Emirati minister, Minnikhanov admitted that Tatarstan is happy with the success of the UAE. The republic is ready to build up the whole range of bilateral ties with this country, including the sphere of Islamic finance and the halal industry.
