The volume of mutual trade between Kazakhstan and the UAE amounted to $673.7 million

Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov had a telephone conversation with Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Presidential Affairs of the UAE Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, primeminister.kz reports.

Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulated Alikhan Smailov on his appointment as Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Mansour Ben Zayed Al Nahyan expressed condolences to the families of Kazakhstanis who died during the January events, wishing peace and prosperity to all the people of Kazakhstan.

The parties expressed their readiness to further strengthen the strategic partnership. According to the results of 11 months of 2021, the volume of mutual trade between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the UAE amounted to $673.7 million, which is almost 50% more than in the same period in 2020 and significantly exceeds the pre-pandemic level of 2019. About 300 joint ventures operate in Kazakhstan with the participation of Emirati capital. During the years of independence of Kazakhstan, the volume of direct investments of the United Arab Emirates in the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan amounted to 2.4 billion dollars, investments of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the UAE exceeded 1 billion dollars.

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov noted that the UAE is an important trade and economic partner of Kazakhstan in the Arab world. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates.

Recall, on January 10, 2022, the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan adopted a resolution on the withdrawal from the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the draft law “On ratification of the Joint Declaration of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the United Arab Emirates on the establishment of a long-term strategic partnership for the development of projects in priority sectors”. The resolution on recall was signed by then acting Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov. The draft law was submitted to the Parliament by a Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 28, 2021.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Alikhan Smailov, also had a telephone conversation with the Vice President of the Republic of Turkey, Fuat Oktay. He expressed condolences to the families of the victims of the tragic events of January and noted that Turkey is ready to provide the necessary support to Kazakhstan.

“The Republic of Turkey is a reliable and strategic partner of Kazakhstan. The Government of Kazakhstan will continue to strengthen cooperation with Turkey in all areas of cooperation,” said Alikhan Smailov.

Turkey is an important trade and economic partner of Kazakhstan. According to the results of 11 months of 2021, the volume of mutual trade amounted to $3.74 billion, which is 32% more than in the same period in 2020 and significantly exceeds the pre-pandemic level of 2019. During the years of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Turkey has invested about $5 billion in the economy of Kazakhstan, investments RC in TR amounted to $1.1 billion.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Turkey.
